Well, this is the make-it/break-it year for Primeau.

If he does not have it, Habs better focus on getting another potential top tier goalie int he system ASAP... (and probably should do that, regardless).

Glad to have Jake as a stabilizing presence in net for the next two years.

I think he basically said Slaf sux and I made the wrong pick. Or something along those lines.

He said his rookie camp play was strong, but his first 2 pre season games were a little underwhelming, but that was part of the process of developing and learning to play in the NHL.

People blew it totally out of context...

Most interpreted this as "omg that guy who drafted/developed all of the busts in the NYR rebuild is picking for our rebuild."

I like that Hughes calls it like it is, not coated in bullpoop.

they don't have a spot open. they're actually 3 forwards over. if he has a spectacular camp they'd probably make room, but as of now a short stay in Laval won't hurt him. and is far from disastrous. let him play big minutes over there, 30-40-50 games. no problem.
with trades and injuries, he'll be back in Mtl soon enough.

I think people are panicking and jumping to conclusions because first-overall picks usually play in the NHL right away.

because usually last place teams don't have 15 forwards signed to NHL contracts

sure, but if he plays in Laval to start the year it's because of his own individual play, as you mentioned if he was having a really good camp they'd make a spot for him.

they'd try, but honestly I cannot see how they could clear 3 contracts.
